Sometimes it’s the very small, but kind gestures sent from our Father that can change your day.
My first choice in food has always been Fish. My number two choice is Chinese and third is Steak. I probaby eat more steak than fish because Cheryl’s first choice is beef.
It’s been a long time since I had Chinese, so I go to #redginger near our home. Cheryl chose to stay home, because that’s way down on her list of food choices.
As I’m being escorted to my table, I walk past a man and wife. The man, Jack, said rather loudly, “Pastor Ken.” I said, “yes.” He said,”you look just like Pastor Ken.” I said, “I know him.” “Well you look just like him,” Jack replied. I then said, your not going to believe this, but I am Pastor Ken Malone. He said your kidding. No, that’s me, I said. “What church do you pastor? I said, Kingdom Gate Worship Center in Satellite Beach. Jack replied, my pastor is Ken Hitte at Discover Church. I gave them a blessing and he said, “we are family.”
As I sat down, I pondered, “What are the odds that I would be called out in a conversation about identity, by another brother and sister in Christ? They do not know me, but said, “You look just like Pastor Ken.” This brief moment was a simple acknowledgment by my Father, that I really needed today. Abba was saying to me, “you look like… We are family.”
I waited for my food, and had the spicy chicken, which is always good. As I was finishing, the waitress came to me and said, “this couple has paid for your meal.” Now, not only am I being acknowledged by Abba, but He has Jack and Amy buy my meal.
The Lord has blessed Cheryl and I, and I’m not in need of having my meal bought. Usually when we go to dinner with another person or couple, I usually buy. But not tonight. Tonight, Abba was saying, “you’re my son, this is your identity. Let Me pay for this one.”
As Jack and Amy got up to leave, I stood up to greet and thank them. I said, “Jack the waitress told on you. Thank you for buying my meal.” I was able to pray with Jack and his wife. Jack is still recovering from the china virus. He got out of the hospital one year ago this month and is on oxygen. He shared with me that he was in a coma for five months and died several times. The prayers of his wife and others kept bringing him back to life. Please pray for Jack.
My heart is enlarged and humbled tonight, that Father acknowledged me.
Leaders Serve! Leaders are called to be servants not tyrants’, dictators, or slave owners. I have seen my share of leaders who are rude, angry, and controlling toward the sheep. It is as if they feel that they are to rule over the sheep with a rod of iron. Look at what Jesus said about serving and being great. Matthew 21:25-28 TPT, “Jesus, knowing their thoughts, called them to his side and said, “Kings and those with great authority in this world rule oppressively over their subjects, like tyrants. But this is not your calling. You will lead by a completely different model. The greatest one among you will live as the one who is called to serve others, because the greatest honor and authority is reserved for the one with the heart of a servant. For even the Son of Man did not come expecting to be served but to serve and give his life in exchange for the salvation of many.” Look at that word. Being a tyrant, is NOT your calling. If you cannot serve without being a tyrant, rude, angry, and belittling the sheep; get out of the ministry. I just saw a quote from an unknown author, “Rudeness is the weak persons imitation of strength. There is no strength in rudeness, its only meant to intimidate.
Several years ago, while in a round table meeting, I spoke about working with leaders in colleges, universities, etc. At the break a pastor said to me privately, “If that lady, that you’re working with at the university attended my church, she would have to get my permission, to work with you.” I was shocked. When did it become a requirement, for members of any church to get the permission of their leader before they serve the Lord? I said to him, “That’s a slave owners’ mentality. Church members do not need your permission. It would be great if they received your blessings, but they never need your permission to do what our Lord has called them to.” (Note: What I’ve just said does not give anyone the license to trample on the leaders ministry. Build your own platform.) This pastor’s concept was that of a tyrant not of a servant. This type of leadership wants to control, manipulate and smother, in order that members just serve the leader’s vision.
Another thing I want to say to those who have felt the verbal oppression of a leader. I apologize to you for the abuse that has come from my fellow ministers. You do not have to take that. Do not submit to that oppression. Walk away from it. The oppressive leader does not deserve to lead any sheep.
Top Position
I see several leaders today, who salivate for the top position and never want to serve the body of Christ. Their plan is to build a platform for themselves. Young men come to me and say, I want to preach from your pulpit. I say, “okay, are you willing to serve?” Are you willing to help at the church? Are you willing to go and help others in the body here?” Eight out ten, just want to preach, without serving. They just want to use my platform for their agenda. This is different from what Jesus taught. Recognition, prestige, success, affirmation is all at the top of the list of those who refuse to serve.
The word of the Lord says, in Psalm 100:2 “SERVE the Lord with gladness.” Serving one another is a calling that Yahweh graciously gives to us. Galatians 6:2, Bear one another’s burdens, and thus fulfill the law of Christ.
Ministry Over Relationship?
Several years ago, a certain minister would come to me repeatedly and tell me about the great things he was doing in ministry. The conversation began with him telling of his works. He did not bother to build relationship with me, he just wanted to tell me how great he was. Each time it was the same story. Ministry-Ministry-Ministry consumed the conversation. I finally told him, “I want to get to know you, not your ministry. Leaders, there is a time that you need to take the leader hat off, disengage and be yourself. Relationship allows us to do just that. To those in the body of Christ, allow your leaders to be themselves. Allow them to be a friend! Work on getting close to your Ekklesia leader. Take them out to lunch, serve them. Say to them, “How can I help you?”
Most ministers today will not even attempt to build relationship with their parishioners. They’re submitted to the religious tradition that says, “You can’t get close to the people. Our Lord Jesus did just the opposite of that tradition. He spent time with his disciples, leaving us an example of relationship with those He served. In the book of Acts, we see this; “And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers.” Acts 2:42 “Day by day continuing with one mind in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they were taking their meals together with gladness and sincerity of heart, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord was adding to their number day by day those who were being saved.” Acts 2:46-47
You never stop serving others.
Christmas is a big production at our home, as we celebrate Christ and our family. This is mainly for our grandkids. We love seeing them blessed. One Christmas, it was remarkably busy, and my mom was visiting us. On the way to do an errand, I drove by two women who were trying to change the tire on their car. As I was getting closer, Holy Spirit said, “Stop and help them.” “I don’t have time for this Lord,” and I kept driving. He repeated, “Go back and help them.” No, was my replay. He never rebuked me but continued to confidently urge me, “Go back and help them.” Finally, I turned around and made it back to their car. The shoulder of the road sloped and every time they tried to jack the car up, it would fall back to the ground. I managed to get the flat tire off and looked in the trunk at the spare. It was in as bad of shape as the one I just took off, but it did have air in it. I put the spare on, let the car down.
As I put the flat tire into the trunk, Holy Spirit said, “give her that 50-dollar bill you have in your wallet. I only had one $50 and Holy Spirit knew it. You cannot hide your money from Yahweh. (More on the subject of money later.) I said, Lord, “I have changed her tire and now you want me to give her my money.” “YES.” I reached in my wallet took out the 50 and handed to the young lady. She was shaking her head NO, as her mom was nodding, YES. The young lady began to weep. I said, “this is your Christmas gift from Jesus.” She took the money and wrapped her arms around me and hugged me like I was her daddy. I began to cry with her and understood that day, my role as a minister. That role is to serve.
My answer to those who insist on being rude and angry toward the sheep. Stop or get out of the ministry. You have been called to serve those you are abusing. Repent of this sin. Ask those you abused to forgive you. Be humble and equip them through your ministry.
To those who want to preach but never serve. You are being prideful. Repent of that pride and begin serving the body of Christ with gladness.
Let’s pray:
Father, give all the leaders grace to walk in humility. Teach each one of us the ministry of serving. Say this, “Father, I agree with Your word on serving. Today I set myself to serve as Jesus did and be a blessing to others. We pray this in Yeshua’s name.
Eight things that activate Holy Spirit in your life.
FAITH—Shed the victim mentality and believe God for a miracle. Speaking God’s word over you and your family will unlock the resources of heaven. Heb. 11:1 & 6 (Read it.) Rom. 10:17 & 8 (Reading required) Get active in God’s word.
Prayer—Talk to God like your talking to a friend. The Lord loves to communicate with you. This creates an avenue of intimacy with the Lord. Don’t be religious-you don’t have to say everything right. Just talk to him. Matt. 6:9-14
Worship—When worship becomes a focus in your life it creates an atmosphere of His presence. Open your mouth and begin to sing. Sing unto the Lord a new song. Psalm 22:3
Intercede—Taking up the cause of Christ in the earth puts you in a position of partnering with him. Partner with him through intercession. 1 Tim. 1:1-3
Pray in Tongues—When you pray in tongues you edify your spirit and build up your faith. If you don’t pray in tongues, ask Jesus to fill you with the Holy Spirit and speaking in tongues. Acts 2:1-4; I Cor. 14:4; Jude 20 (Read it)
Forgive—Forgiveness is not an emotion but an act of your will that can change your emotions. If someone has wounded you begin to say, “I forgive (put in their name) in Jesus name. Keep doing this every time satan brings up the offense. John 20-23; Mark 11:25 (Read it)
Prophesy—Prophesy the word of the Lord over your life. Prophesy His written word but also a word spoken to you. Keep doing this until it comes to pass. Isaiah 55:10-11
Walk in Righteousness—Realize that Jesus bore your sin that you might be made righteous through Him. Begin to declare that you are righteous because of Him. 2 Cor 5:21
These are a few but not all of the things that will activate the hand of God in your life.
On August 24, 2021, the Lord gave me a dream. I believe God is now activating this dream as we birth the third great awakening revival in America.
In this dream, my wife, Cheryl, and I are attending a service where Dutch Sheets will be speaking. We enter the building, and I quickly discern that the spiritual atmosphere does not feel conducive to a move of God or Revival. Something does not feel right. As we move further into the facility, we see that Dutch is sitting in the middle section of the right side of the room. This is unusual since speakers are typically seated in the front row. Cheryl and I then find a seat next to Dutch and begin a conversation with him. Two retired pastors are leading worship as the service begins. Music from an old wineskin of worship is played and the spiritual climate moves from bad to worse…and on from there. This service is lifeless and it needs to shift!
The time has now come for Dutch to speak. As he walks forward to receive the microphone, the worship leader refuses to hand it over. What is typically a smooth transition has now become a “tug of war.” That which is lifeless tries to hold on to control. The former does not want to give way to the new. Finally, Dutch wrestles the mic from the song leader’s hand. The battle is both physical and spiritual! As Dutch takes the mic, the spiritual atmosphere begins to change.
Dutch raises the hand-held mic and before he can even speak a word, the Spirit of Yahweh manifests in a powerful way. In the house, there are one hundred men. Two men from each state within the Nation. As Yahweh’s Spirit manifests, every man in the house falls to the floor, laying prostrate before God. They begin weeping and travailing in birthing prayer before the Lord for their state and Nation. The cry of each man is deep, and the groans and travail are as the sound one hears when a woman gives birth. This groan, however, does not originate from the earth, but from the heavenly realms. Holy Spirit is calling men to give birth to the greatest move of God in America. It is at this time when Dutch begins to identify each man and their state. He comes to me and says, “I know this man, this is Ken Malone from Florida.” The travail continues as each man is incapacitated on the floor. Prayers are being released that will shift the Nation. In this dream, Yahweh’s approval is on these men as they have abandoned their desires and embraced His. Each man’s wife was standing beside them as the men prayed. I knew these women were watching over their spouses to make sure nothing interfered with their husband’s intercession.
In the dream, I heard our Lord say, “I’m calling MEN to birth revival in this nation through prayer. This is the game-changer.”
Several scriptures came to me through this dream:
Isaiah 66:6-8 NASB, “A voice of uproar from the city, a voice from the temple, The voice of the Lord who is rendering recompense to His enemies. 7 “Before she travailed, she brought forth; Before her pain came, she gave birth to a boy. 8 “Who has heard such a thing? Who has seen such things? Can a land be born in one day? Can a nation be brought forth all at once? As soon as Zion travailed, she also brought forth her sons.
Jeremiah 30:6 NASB, ‘Ask now, and see If a male can give birth. Why do I see every man with his hands on his loins, as a woman in childbirth? And why have all faces turned pale?
Psalm 42:7 NASB, Deep calls to deep at the sound of Your waterfalls; All Your breakers and Your waves have rolled over me.
This is where the dream ends.
I awoke from this dream weeping for America. After falling asleep again, the dream returns, and I am travailing for my State and for America. When I awoke the second time, my body was shaking as I wept for our nation.
I am so thankful for the women who have led the prayer movement across America. Over the years, most of our prayer gatherings have consisted of faithful women who have answered the call of intercession. Again, I’m so grateful for this. We are where we are today because of your faithfulness, crying out to Yahweh for America.
However, today there is a call from heaven being made to the hearts of male prayer warriors. A cry in the wilderness for men to become raw and unbridled before the Lord. For men to groan and travail in prayer for our Nation. Nations can shift and turn to our Lord through the birthing prayer of both men and women.
Since receiving this revelation in the night, the Lord has shown me some additional things.
First, in each place I have shared this dream, many men have answered the call to prayer. Men do want to pray and they are hungry to intercede. There is a deep desire in their heart to help birth a third awakening in this nation that will surpass both the first and second great awakenings.
Next, men need to be led. They need to be led by other men. Iron sharpens Iron. Most of these men are “undomesticated” prayer warriors that have been left dormant in the wilderness. They’re not rebellious, they’re passionate. These are men that have become fed up with the current state of America. Their intercession is raw, without the filters of religion. Each one wants to be empowered and then sent to do this work of intercession. We need more of these men who are willing to become unbridled prayer warriors!
Religion has worked hard to keep MEN out of the seat of authority assigned to them by our Heavenly Father. Men must fight…and they want to fight, in prayer, for our families, cities, states, and Nation. A portion of this dream reveals how religion wants to stage a lifeless form of worship. Religion seeks to fulfill 2 Timothy 3:5, “of pretending to have a respect for God, but in reality, they want nothing to do with God’s power.”
In this dream, each wife was watching over their husband with their face set like flint. They would not allow anything to interfere with their husband fulfilling the call Holy Spirit has given him. Not only were these women guarding their husbands, but they were also in approval of their husbands in this new position of travailing prayer.
Today, I am calling on every man to appeal to heaven in prayer, travail, and intercession for this Nation. Through you, Yahweh can bring great change to America!
Let’s pray!
Father, as men, we come face to face with You. We turn our hearts toward Your desire for America to return home to You. We commit to You today that we will answer this call of intercession. Connect us with other men, who have no agenda except to make Jesus, King over the United States of America.
Our decree:
As a man, I am here to fight through prayer. I will not be bogged down in the restraints of religion. Father, I decree that this day we answer the call. On this day we fight, in prayer.
I declare America, will not die! Father, I say remember Your covenant with this country and have mercy on us! Turn the heart of every inhabitant to You and save America! I decree today that Your kingdom has come and Your will is being done! America Shall Be Saved!
One of the things I have seen so much of over the last few years, is the number of married ministers or their spouse falling into adultery. My intention is not to throw rocks or blame male or female but to share my heart on a pattern I see in some ministers. What I will share in the next few paragraphs, is only one of the traps, that I see, that ministers face. Some of our ministers are falling prey to this enemy. God’s grace is sufficient to defeat this. Do not think it is just men who fall into this. I have watched an equal number of men and women fall in this trap. Father’s heart is hurting by this covenant breaking. However, He also has restoration for all who fall into this or any snare. Adultery is an ENEMY, and it should be viewed as that. Those who fall prey to it are not our enemy but the spirit behind it is. Wrong priorities are also the enemy of the family.
Married to the Ministry?
So many of our ministers are married to their ministry and they put ministry far ahead of their family. I do not believe they intend to fall into this snare but because of wrong priorities, it happens.
I have seen so many who are on the road in ministry and or business and their spouse and children are given the leftovers. When this happens, it is possible for the spouse to stray from the covenant of marriage, wrecking the marriage, ministry or business. BTW-I have also seen much restoration of marriages and ministry.
Help My Marriage
Many years back, I was asked by a minister to counsel and pray with him about his marriage. He pastored a church but also traveled in his business. His business was successful, and his ministry was growing. He was gone 4-5 days each week. He would come home on the weekend, minister to his congregation and then back out on the road. He took little time to be a husband to his wife and a father to his kids. He shared with me, “my wife is in an affair with a man from our church.” My heart hurt for him, but I could see the root and cause of this breach; his ministry and business. The appearance of success drove him.
I prayed with him and shared the word of God with him. I then gave him a prophetic word; I know was from Holy Spirit. Come off the road for a minimum of six months. Even if it costs you your job, come off the road. He did not like the word. I can understand, he was successful in his business, but we are speaking of something more important than his business or ministry; his marriage. He said, “I can do this without coming off the road.”
That night, at dinner, I met with he and his wife. She was so uncomfortable. The shame and defiance were so obvious. She said, “I have ended the affair and will not do this again.” My discernment knew this was a lie. Until brokenness occurs, adulterers will always lie. It was obvious, there was no brokenness. Again, I urged him to come off the road. His reply was, “No we can do this without me coming off the road.” Can you hear the arrogance in his answer?. His thoughts may have been, let’s keep this looking successful. Let’s keep the ministry, keep the business, and keep my marriage and all will look successful. His wife did not stay faithful. Today they are divorced, the church is closed, and he moved.
This word is to both men and female ministers. Your ministry DOES NOT, come before your family. If you do, you are in dangerous waters. I have met so many who view their ministry in higher regard than their spouse. This is not biblical and is outside of God’s defining character.
Affair Proof
Our Father did not give Adam ministry first. He gave him relationship, to himself and then his wife. She was God’s gift to him. There was an agape love that flowed from Adam and Eve. They were so one with the Father and each other. The competitive nature (male versus female,) was not within them. An agape love was their motivation.
As I share this crucial protocol, with all the young ministers I know. Some look at me like, “what are you talking about? Ministry comes first.” I have heard preachers say to their spouse, “Now honey you know ministry comes first.” I heard one minister say to their spouse, as the affair was exposed, “You can’t do that, I’m in the ministry.” The minister’s reputation, (success) was on the line. They had put the ministry ahead of the spouse for years, now they were reaping the harvest of neglect in their marriage. Even as they were losing their spouse, they continued to place ministry first. To some the appearance of success is most important.
Accountability
Be accountable to your spouse. Whether you are the one traveling in ministry or stay at home. Tell them how you feel, do not stay silent. Only travel if your spouse is in agreement. Take your spouse with you. Cheryl goes with me most of the time. I’m strengthened to minister, by her presence.
Several years ago, I did ministry among the Navajo. These are the code-talkers who helped win the war against Japan. The Navajo used their native language as code and the Japanese could not decode it.
I always carried others with me to New Mexico. On my first trip I took two friends, Ken LaGrow and Everett Hamilton. On my second trip I took several ministry friends. We usually stayed anywhere from 3 to 7 days. The second trip was very demanding on me physically and emotionally. After the mission was over, our group went back to Albuquerque and pulled into the Holiday Inn. One of my spiritual sons, Geary, was driving. I hopped out of the van and walked inside to the counter and asked for my room. As I’m standing there a lady walks up beside me and puts her arm under my arm. She said, “We want a room on the top floor, where no one can hear us.
I immediately remove my arm from hers and said, No I do not. I am married. She then walked behind the counter, and I could see, Holiday Inn on her clothes. She preceded to say, “I want to know what room he’s in, so I can visit him tonight.” I said, “Do not give it to her.” I got my room key and went to my room. I then called my wife Cheryl and explained to her what took place. I needed to be accountable. I did not want to deal with the demons this woman carried, bothering me in the night. Cheryl prayed and broke all the demons off. Thank God for a wife who will pray for her husband. I then called my apostle, Dutch Sheets and told him what was going on. He prayed also and removed any dark thoughts. I then called my team together in the lobby and they prayed. A few of the women in the team wanted to do deliverance on this lady. Both spiritual and physical. If Cheryl had been there, she would have decked the woman and then led her to Yeshua.
I found out later, that she was the bar tender at the hotel and flirting was how she received large tips. How many men took her up on her gestures?
I never went back to the Navajo without Cheryl.
Accountability and correction plays a hug role in our walk with our Lord. I love the opportunity that accountability gives to us. I also embrace correction, especially from my wife and my apostle, Dutch.
To all my ministry friends—Your spouse comes before ministry. Sow into them. Take them on dates. Go, do the things you did, when you were falling in love with them. This will affair proof your marriage before it crashes.
All of us need grace to live by. God’s grace is not only unmerited favor, but an empowerment by God to live a life holy and acceptable. You can’t do holiness but His grace in you can.
Prayer
Let’s pray. Father, we humbly ask for your grace to empower us to be sons and daughters. We are not perfect, but we so desire Your life in us. Forgive us for our sins of putting ministry first and not being accountable to you and our spouse. Lord, we ask you to pour Your grace upon us to prioritize You first, then our spouse, In Yeshua’s name.
