God’s Providence

By: Ken Malone

Over the last five years, I’ve had three dreams in which the setting was a home we built in Providence AL. Cheryl, and I homesteaded the property. We cleared the property, drilled a well, put in septic, planted, built and raised our children there for a short time. Each one of our kids remembers this property. It was the fulfilling of Jeremiah 1:10 in the natural realm. We left that home in 1984 for full time ministry. Upon selling the home we never looked back until I started dreaming about this piece of property.

The First Dream

In 2018 I dreamed that we went back to Alabama and re-purchased the property from the current owner. The owner’s mom and dad were good friends when we lived in Alabama. They lived about a mile from us. We all helped to birth the Charismatic Renewal in the region. We also went to church together. I found it strange that I dreamed we had re-purchased the land and home. I mentioned the dream to my wife, Cheryl and she remarked, “That’s not a dream, that’s a nightmare.” Not that the land or home is a bad thing. Moving from Florida and leaving our kids and grandkids is a nightmare. Not only that, but we do not feel a call to Alabama.

I pondered this dream for some time, asking Yahweh why He had given me this dream. I could feel the wind of Holy Spirit’s on it, but I was missing something. Alabama is not on my radar, except to visit.

Second Dream

This dream comes on September 14, 2021, the day that Pastor Yonggi Cho, from Seoul South Korea went home to our Lord. I dreamed again about the property. In this dream, we own the home. Cindy Jacobs, and I are in the backyard. Cindy is prophesying to the prodigals and the emerging generation. She begins calling out the names of prodigals. She’s prophesying to many. One of the people she speaks about is one of my adult children. I’m on my knees with my face in the dirt travailing in prayer for my child and each name that Cindy calls out. Praying for a generation of prodigals, that are destined to return to our Father. As I continue to pray, Cindy continues to prophesy.

In the dream the travail is so intense that I am in physical pain. Groans and weeping can be seen and heard. It seems Cindy doesn’t see me in the deep throes of intercession. It’s as if I am alone in this war for the prodigals. I think if she stops prophesying maybe the intense travail will stop.

Children are born into the Kingdom through this type of intercession. (Isaiah 66:8)

I need help.

While praying, I cry out, “Can someone help me?” Nothing, no one comes to help. I cry again with a very loud and fierce voice, “Go get Dutch Sheets. I need his help.” Someone goes in the backdoor and Dutch comes out of my house and kneels beside me. Deep calling unto deep continues through intense intercession. I’m thinking he’s going to help me birth this movement of prodigals returning home. Dutch places his hand on my back and says very strongly, “Finish this, Ken.” (End)

After going back to sleep, I dream the same dream again. When I wake up from the dream, I’m weeping.

Why this dream? Why was it in Providence? I don’t understand.

In August of 2022, while visiting my mom, Cheryl and I drove by the house in Providence. Lord, are we are to move back to Alabama? As we drove by, Cheryl and I did not feel any pull towards returning. She emphatically said, “No, we are not to return.”

I muse about these two dreams. What’s going on here? What are you trying to show me?

In September 2021, while thinking of the dream, I felt Holy Spirit say, look at the definition of Providence. Here’s what I found.

  1. It’s a name that our forefathers gave to Yahweh, because of His divine care and direction to them.
  2. It also means to secure the future or plan for the future.

Now I know what Holy Spirit is saying to all of us. He desires that we secure the future of the generations through deep intercession with groans and travails for our prodigals.

Here it comes again. A Third Dream about Providence

On October 17, 2023, I awaken from yet another dream in which I am in our home in Providence AL. In this dream I’m sleeping in the master bedroom. I wake up and notice the room. It was just like we left it in 1984. A beautiful and crisp fall Alabama morning can be felt. After dressing for the day, I walk out of the front door with a cup of coffee and breathe in the fresh morning air. (End)

When I awaken from the dream, I said to Cheryl, “I had another dream last night.” She said, “Don’t say it.” She knew exactly what I was about to say before I said it. I told her anyway.

Here is some of my take aways from these dreams.

  1. My heart for the prodigals is very strong. I believe they are the first-fruits of awakening revival, that will be poured out on all the earth. Since 2017, I’ve been in birthing prayer for the prodigals.
  2. Through the re-purchase of the property in Providence, Holy Spirit is saying, “Secure the future.” It is now time to pray to the Lord of the Harvest and decree the return of our sons and daughters.
  3. I have a strong connection to the property and what I built there. No not the home but the well of prayer revival that is on the property. For the years that we were there, I daily dug a well of prayer revival in that country home. Anyone who lives there will feel the wind of Holy Spirit.
  4. Dutch didn’t help me pray. As an apostolic father he’s encouraging a son to finish what is conceived through Holy Spirit.
  5. In the third dream, I believe Holy Spirit is saying, “Rest in Me, I’m going to do this.”
  6. Any owner of this home will feel the stirring of Holy Spirit. I’m praying for the current owners.
  7. Holy Spirit is brooding over Alabama. I had a dream last year about Jefferson County Alabama. I wrote about it, and you can find it in this blog. To all the believers in Alabama, move into travailing prayer for the Lord’s harvest in your state. I’m praying for you and your state.
  8. It’s amazing that Yahweh had us buy property in 1977 and in 2023 He is speaking loudly about securing the future of our sons and daughters through the re-purchase of the homestead.
  9. It’s the time of the return of the prodigals. Once home they will not be identified as a prodigal but as sons.
  10. Let’s build a homestead with our sons and daughters.

Come on Home

Pray to the Lord of the Harvest that He would send laborers into the harvest field of the prodigals. Matthew 9:37-38 NASB, Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Therefore beseech the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into His harvest.”

The song “Warrior,” by Mylon LeFevre is always in my heart. “Come on home to the Father, come on home to the Son. Come on home the battles over, Christ has won. Come on home.”

Pray for the prodigals. Ask Jesus to pray for your prodigals.
