Prayer Watch Reading—The book of Nehemiah

“The wall around Jerusalem was finished on the twenty-fifth day of the month Elul, in fifty-two days.” (Nehemiah 6:15)

We are calling for a Nehemiah Prayer Watch to rebuild America’s walls in prayer. Starting September 11, 2026, for 52 days until Election Day, November 3, 2026.

The number 52 represents completion, restoration, and a swift work of God. Also, divine protection, restoration, and a renewed spiritual identity for God’s people.

(*One note on the math. September 12 is the first ‘day’ of the 52-day countdown to election day of November 3, but according to the Jewish definition of ‘days,’ the day starts at sundown, which would be sundown of September 11. God uses the Jewish calendar.)

We ask that everyone focus on rebuilding the wall in front of their house just as Nehemiah directed. You don’t have to be on the border of the country to work on this either. These are the spiritual walls that we must rebuild.  Every aspect of American life has been corrupted and fallen away from God’s integrity and blessings.

Examples:

Farming, ranching, food industry

The entertainment industry, music, movies, books, games

Businesses, Insurance companies, manufacturing, engineering

Schools, education, universities, history museums 

Government, the courts specifically.

Families, and not just your personal family, but the restoration of the family unit as God intended. Saving children and calling for Godly men and women.

The ports (air and sea), infrastructure, national parks, the roads/highways (there have been prayer journeys centered around highways), etc.

Prayer Watch Strategy:

This guide was adapted from the book of Nehemiah. Read Nehemiah for yourself and remember to listen to Holy Spirit promptings going through this Prayer Watch. 52 days divided by the 13 chapters of Nehemiah equals 4 days per chapter. 

September 11-14: Nehemiah 1 

  • Nehemiah inquires about the state of Jerusalem. The people are in hard times, and the city walls are still down.
  • He mourns and fasts and prays
  • The prayer he prays is outlined. A prayer of repentance.

 Pray:

  • Remember September 11 and pray it does not recur.
  • Focus on the other aspect of repentance, putting God in remembrance of the promises laid out in Deut. 30, just like Nehemiah does in his prayer.  Note: this is the time to fast if led to do so. But limit the fast. It says Nehemiah spent DAYS fasting, not the entire time.

September 15-18: Nehemiah 2

Verses 1-10: Details going before the King of Persia

  • Nehemiah is sad/downcast from his mourning. The King notices and asks for an explanation.
  • He asks to return and rebuild and boldly asks for a letter of authority to gather supplies he needs to rebuild.
  • The captors provide the material needed to rebuild the city.

Verses11-20: the walls

  • Without telling anyone, Nehemiah surveys the walls and the work to be done. Then he goes to the people with his mandate.
  • opposition scoffs/laughs/makes empty threats in an attempt to instill fear.
  • Nehemiah claims God will defend and reminds evil is has no claim here

Pray

  • -Praying for the end of the war of Iran/Persia
  • Survey the wreckage that is your prayer burden. How and where is it broken? What is the extent of the work to be done?
  • Be ready for the opposition that will come against you.
  • Remember that opposition has no claim to the inheritance promised from God.
  •  Set yourself to the work. Commit yourself to Holy Spirit. And if led, tell those who need to know.

September 19-22: Nehemiah 3

  • The rebuilding and repairing of the walls and gates and who built each section; some did a lot, others a small section
  • Daughters and sons alike, nobles, priests, (gold)smiths, and merchants, everyone worked on the section by them. Whether a district or the section in front of their house.
  • Some sections of wall required a full rebuild. Others only required repairs.

Pray:

  • Start rebuilding your wall. Identify the sphere (wall) that the Holy Spirit has put you in; work on that through prayer and fasting.
  • Know you are not alone; to your left and right, someone is building too. They may not be easy, but under divine direction it will be accomplished. Go forward, for your section of wall will fit into the next.

September 23-26: Nehemiah 4

  • Sanballat and Tobiah, this spirit of mockery tries to demoralize and claim the inheritance of our nation.
  • The spirit is ignored; they call on God as they continue to build in prayer.
  • Opposition conspires to attack. A watch is set to defend. Girded with weapons. 
  • The enemy attack never happens because the enemy knows that the builders know the plans of the enemy.
  • The rubbish is cleared away.

Pray:

  • Now we must defend the work of the Lord through prayer. Holy Spirit knows ahead of time, and He will fight for us. Pray in the Spirit.
  • Gird yourself with weapons, the spiritual kind, so that your work continues. (Ephesians 6, The armor of God). Put on the armor of God and keep praying.
  • Be ready to rally in your prayer circles

September 27-30: Nehemiah 5

  • People cry out over the injustices from the people of our nation.
  • Nehemiah rebukes the leaders who have not operated with integrity.
  • They return everything and require nothing in return.
  • Details the generosity and the calling of leaders to be servants (also Matthew 20:26-28)

Pray:

  • Pray for the injustices that are on your heart that have come against your fellow Americans.
  • We are called to be generous with what our Lord has provided for us. Have a generous heart during times of difficulty.

October 1-4: Nehemiah 6

  • The Spirits of Assassination and betrayal worked with the lies of the media to come against Nehemiah to kill him. All attempts are thwarted.
  • God has done this great work; the wall is completed, and the enemies give up their schemes.
  • Leadership now understands how to operate in the future.

Pray:

  • Let’s not allow the enemy any victory; be shrewd and discerning, for even though the wall is built, the work is not yet finished. Decree that you will operate in discernment and wisdom.
  • Take some time to pray for President Trump and be thankful that God appointed him. For President Trump has been following Nehemiah’s path in rebuilding America. Pray for the members of his team who are willing to fight for our nation.
  • Pray that President Trump will be strong against the enemy’s schemes to destroy him. Pray that Holy Spirit will reveal the plans of the opposition and continue to preserve our President. Rebuke the spirits of assassination, betrayal, and lies; they have no place here.

October 5-8: Nehemiah 7

  • The city is large, but the population is small. A census is taken of the exiles and their family lines
  • Gifts were given to the treasury to rebuild that as well.
  • Some stayed in Jerusalem, and the rest returned to the hometowns.

Pray:

  • Remember the ancestors and heroes and pray for the unsung people who have brought us to this point.
  •  Pray for the military, those serving and those who give their lives in defense of the country.
  • Pray for the laborers who stayed home to keep the country going and continue to Make America Great Again.
  • Provide for the treasury. It must be refilled, as decades of corruption have emptied our country of its resources. This is not just money that is required but also trade. (Electricians, masons, smiths, steel workers, etc.) Pray that new streams of resources come to America.
  • Pray for DOGE and their work to eliminate fraud and return money to the country. Pray for integrity in the face of temptation. And pray for the work to be finished so that corrupt agencies will be shut down instead of restarted under a new name to be a burden in the future.

October 9-12: Nehemiah 8

  • The Israelites settle into life; they build an altar of praise to God.
  • Study of the Word resumes under Ezra, and he reads the Law of Moses to the people.
  • Do not weep. Let this be a time of rejoicing.

Prayers & devotions: read the entire book of Nehemiah. Read the Sermon on the Mount; these are the commandments we live under.

  • Repent of how far we have fallen. Ask the Lord to forgive us for our sins. God has saved America as He promised. This is a nation He founded, and His promises will not return void.
  • Pray that the Law of Love is reestablished in your life and in our nation. That integrity, honor, and a focus on legacy will be reintegrated to everyday life.

October 13-16: Nehemiah 9

  • Prayers and confession of sin, past and present. And time spent praising to God. (1 John 1:9)

 Pray:

  • Confess your sins. By confessing your sins and pleading Christ’s blood to cover the iniquity, it will all be cleared away. And the work can continue unhindered.
  • Release prayers of thanksgiving and praise to God again. There is no “I/me” in these prayers. They center on God and His power. 

 October 17- 20: Nehemiah 10

  • List of names of signers
  • Vow taken by the people with the understanding of the consequences of breaking it

Pray:

  • Remember the Founding Fathers and the price that they paid for our nation. The Declaration of Independence says “And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes and our sacred Honor.” Pray for the original truths contained in these documents to come to light to override the twisted and incorrect interpretations the court systems claim.

There is a need to keep the work going; this is the hardest part of building. This pledge to defend the nation, watch and pray, and keep her walls up, for the rest of our lives. When the enemy attacks, it’s easy to rush into building and fortifying. But in times of peace, idleness slowly erodes the walls. Maintenance is important.

This is where the old stories of people who made history, not just the collection of dates and names. Use the stories of their accomplishments; for we are the heirs of their sacrifices. And we are responsible for carrying the legacy they passed to us.

October 21- 24: Nehemiah 11

A list of who settled where

 Pray:

We must occupy

  • To conquer, we must occupy the land; to receive our inheritance, we must reside in that place. To put it spiritually: “When it arrives, it finds the house unoccupied, swept clean and put in order. Then it goes and takes with it seven other spirits more wicked than itself, and they go in and live there. And the final condition of that person is worse than the first.” (Matthew 12:44–45)”… after all this time rebuilding, cleaning, dedication, and seeking the blessing of God, do not abandon your post.
  • Pray the many born-again believers already here will engage and occupy the land. Pray for the billion-soul harvest to raise up the new generation of occupiers to fill the country and continue the building of a nation after God.

 October 25- 28: Nehemiah 12

  • record of the priests and Levites by family.
  • Time to come onto the walls with Praise and Thanksgiving. It’s a time of celebration.
  • Provision for worship at the temple is set in place

Pray:

  • Pray and dedicate the work/fruits of our labor to God and His plans for the future. This is Gods’ country, He founded it, and He directs its’ path. Let’s steward His great blessing. 

Pray into this:

  • We do hereby dedicate this Land, and ourselves, to reach the people within these shores with the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and to raise up Godly generations after us, and with these generations take the Kingdom of God to all the earth. May this Covenant of Dedication remain to all generations, as long as this earth remains and may this land, along with England, be evangelists to the world. May all who see this cross remember what we have done here, and may those who come here to inhabit join us in this Covenant and this most noble work, that the Holy Scriptures may be fulfilled. From these very shores the gospel shall go forth, not only to this new world, but the entire world.

October 29 – November 2: Nehemiah 13

We’ve made it to the end.

  • Nehemiah returns to find the people of Jerusalem have fallen into neglect and broken their vows in the short time he was away. He immediately purges everything foreign from the temple and stops the evil practices.
  • Restored the honor of the Sabbath and restored the family by removing the pagan wives. Restores the common language.

Pray:

  • Up to this point is has been about rebuilding the walls, confessing sins, celebrations. And worship. Now we must be doers of the Word. Pray that we will follow the Lord’s steps. Anything foreign to God’s way and the laws of America must be purged.
  • Pray for the end of the practice of Islamic religions in our Christian Nation. We cannot allow those who come to our shores to remain ignorant of English and the Laws laid out in our founding documents. Pray against allegiance to foreign powers.
  • Pray in agreement with President Theodore Roosevelt’s decree: “There is no room in this country for hyphenated Americans. When I refer to hyphenated Americans, I do not refer to naturalized Americans. Some of the very best Americans I have known were naturalized Americans born abroad. But a hyphenated American is no American at all!

The one absolutely certain way of bringing this nation to ruin, of preventing all possibility of it continuing to be a nation at all, would be to permit it to become a tangle of squabbling nationalities, an intricate knot of German-Americans, Irish-Americans, English-Americans, French-Americans, Scandinavian-Americans, or Italian-Americans, each preserving its separate nationality, each at heart feeling more nationality than with the other citizens of the American Republic.”

Give thanks for President Trump. He has a difficult and thankless task of purging our country as Nehemiah did. With all humility and grace we to must do the same.

The end:

  • Tomorrow is election day. Go vote for the candidates that are God-fearing and hold conservative values.
  • Pray against election fraud.
  • Pray for the election today, that all the votes will be counted and the red wave, the blood of the Lamb, will cover the election
